<p>Here are some easy ways to do this:</p>

<li>Frequent and shop at weekly farmers markets. <a href="http://www.localharvest.org/" target="_self">Localharvest.org</a> is a great resource to find farmers and harvests in your community. Use Google to search for farmers markets in your area. They often take place every week.</li>
<li>Shop at organic food markets that insist on purchasing from local farms. If you are unsure where the produce in the store is grown, ask the employees.</li>
<li>Buy fruits and vegetables that are in season in your area. If they are in season, chances are they are local, as it is cheaper for local farmers to sell to the stores around them. <a href="http://localfoods.about.com/od/searchbyregion/Search_Seasonal_Fruits_Vegetables_By_Region.htm" target="_self">What&#8217;s in season?</a></li>
